Writing and Editing

Shula

I received my BA in music and English from UC Berkeley in 1999, with honors in both fields. While I was an undergraduate, I began writing program notes for the university symphony orchestra and discovered the pleasure of writing about music for a general readership. These days I continue to explore issues of music history and performance in program notes and magazine articles. I've also been a pre-concert lecturer for the Seattle Baroque Orchestra since 2004, and I was the lecturer in residence for the 2005-2006 season.

I am also available as an editor for freelance projects. Since I've kept a toe in the world of academic prose, I have been as effective editing a book-length social-science dissertation for publication as I've been editing and copywriting for a more general or commercial readership. I'm currently the editorial assistant for online feature articles at The Learning Musician (www.learningmusician.com). My clients have been thrilled and are happy to be available as references. For more information, please contact me or visit my profile on LinkedIn.
